OXATOP® 250 EC is a pre-emergent herbicide recommended for the control of grass, broadleaf and sedge weeds in irrigated rice crops, applied with sufficient soil moisture. They act by contact, being absorbed by germinating weeds.

Use: Herbicide
Formulation: Emulsifiable concentrate -EC.
Mechanism of Action: Protoporphyrinogen oxidase inhibitor – PPO, PPG or Protox, group E of the Herbicide Resistance Action Committee – HRAC, group 14 of the Weed Science Society of America – WSSA (USA). Inhibition of PPG forms free radicals that destabilize the formation of chlorophyll precursors, initiating lipid and protein peroxidation resulting in loss of chlorophyll, carotenoids, and cell membrane disintegration that allows cells and cell organelles to rapidly dehydrate and disintegrate.
