NICOMAIZ 4 OD
NICOMAÍZ® 4 OD is a systemic and selective herbicide, belongs to the family of sulfonylureas. Its active ingredient, nicosulfuron, inhibits cell division through the blockade of the enzyme acetolactate synthetate (ALS), which is involved in the synthesis of three essential amino acids: valine, leucine and isoleucine (group B of the HRAC, group 2 of the WSSA).

Advantages

- It is quickly absorbed by the foliage and to a lesser extent by the roots of the plants, being then translocated by the xylem and phloem towards the growing zones.
- Susceptible weeds stop growing quickly after application, the first symptoms manifest as chlorosis or reddish discoloration of the meristematic areas, which occurs over a period of 3 to 5 days. The death of weeds occurs 1-3 weeks after application.
- The selectivity of nicosulfuron to corn is derived from selective metabolism in which nicosulfuron is hydroxylated into pyrimidine-5 and then conjugated with glucose, inactivating it.
