Residual and systemic herbicide with foliar and root absorption, belonging to the sulfonylurea group. It is rapidly absorbed by the leaves and translocated in the apoplast and symplast to the meristematic tissues. It acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of the amino acids valine, leucine and isoleucine (inhibiting the activity of the enzyme acetolactate synthase, ALS).
