Glyphosate-based herbicide, derived from glycine. Systemic and non-selective. Absorption by leaves and stems. Rapid translocation through the symplast. Inhibits the biosynthesis of the amino acid shikimate (inhibiting the activity of the enzyme (5-enolpyruvyl-shikimate-3-phosphate) synthase, EPSP synthase).
