Systemic, post-emergence, non-selective herbicide for combating annual and perennial weeds. Glyphosate is absorbed through the leaves and other green parts of weeds and is translocated to all plant organs, primarily accumulating in the roots and subterranean organs of perennial plants. It inhibits the biosynthesis of the amino acid shikimic acid by blocking the activity of the EPSP synthase enzyme (Group 9 of HRAC). MCPA belongs to the chemical group of phenoxy-carboxylates and acts as a synthetic auxin. It is absorbed through both foliage and roots, with translocation occurring through the symplast and apoplast, accumulating in meristematic tissues. It inhibits cellular development (functioning similarly to indole-acetic acid, IAA) (Group 4 of HRAC).
